The prophecies of two of history’s most famous mystics — Nostradamus and Baba Vanga — have long fascinated and unsettled people around the world. Many believe that a surprising number of their predictions, some reaching far beyond our current era, have already come to pass.
Baba Vanga, the blind Bulgarian clairvoyant born Vangeliya Pandeva Gushterova, died in 1996. Yet her name continues to circulate widely, especially because of several predictions people claim she made decades before they occurred. Among them is a chilling reference interpreted by many as foretelling the 9/11 attacks. According to reports, she declared in 1989: “Horror, horror! The American brethren will fall after being attacked by the steel birds. The wolves will be howling in a bush, and innocent blood will be gushing.”
Supporters also credit her with predicting the rise of a Black president in the United States, the assassination of India’s Prime Minister Indira Gandhi, and even the timing of her own death.

Nostradamus, the 16th-century French apothecary and seer, remains just as iconic. His book Les Prophéties, a compilation of 942 cryptic quatrains, has been scrutinized for centuries by those eager to connect his writings to historical events. Admirers claim he foretold the Great Fire of London, the rise of Adolf Hitler, both World Wars, and even the atomic devastation of Hiroshima and Nagasaki. Some modern interpreters also believe his verses allude to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Predictions for 2025
When it comes to the year 2025, both mystics offer dramatic — and unsettling — visions.
Nostradamus is said to have foreseen the rise of a shadowy cult and even the creation of an “underwater empire.” Baba Vanga, on the other hand, allegedly envisioned the dawn of widespread telepathy, a leap that would radically redefine human capability.

Yet their forecasts also carry darker undertones. Nostradamus warned of a catastrophic conflict unfolding on European soil, writing: “The ancient plague will be worse than enemies.” Baba Vanga similarly spoke of a devastating battle that would shatter communities.
Nostradamus also described a fiery object hurtling toward Earth:
“From the cosmos, a fireball will rise,
A harbinger of fate, the world pleads.
Science and fate in a cosmic dance:
The fate of the Earth, a second chance.”
According to Sky History, the French seer even predicted that the Russian-Ukrainian war would eventually grind to a halt only when both sides become “exhausted.”
