Former First Lady Melania Trump has largely stayed out of the public eye during her husband Donald Trump’s second term in the White House. However, she’s set to make a notable return to the spotlight, as Fox News host Sean Hannity recently announced that she will receive a special honor at the network’s annual Patriot Awards.
The Fox Nation Patriot Awards is an annual event that celebrates “America’s unsung heroes,” recognizing military personnel, first responders, and everyday citizens who make a difference in their communities. This year’s ceremony will be held on Thursday, November 6, at The Tilles Center for the Performing Arts in Brookville, New York, and will air live on Fox.
According to TV Insider, categories for this year’s awards include Young Patriot, Heroism, T2T Stephen Siller Award, Most Valuable Patriot, Salute to Service, Patriot of the Year, and a new addition — the Honor Award. Another new category debuting this year is the Charlie Kirk Legacy Award, which Fox describes as an annual recognition for someone “who embodies Charlie’s mission and his spirit of free speech, faith, and family.”
The first recipient of the Charlie Kirk Legacy Award will be Erika Kirk, widow of Charlie Kirk. She will receive the honor from country star Jason Aldean, his wife Brittany Aldean, and Fox anchor Jesse Watters. Jason Aldean will also perform two songs during the event: Try That in a Small Town and How Far Does a Goodbye Go.
Melania Trump Named “Patriot of the Year”
Among the notable guests and honorees this year will be First Lady Melania Trump, who is set to receive the Patriot of the Year Award.
Sean Hannity shared the announcement live on air, describing the Patriot Awards as “the most patriotic award show on television.” He confirmed Melania’s participation, stating:
“First Lady of our country, Melania Trump, will be joining us live on stage this Thursday to receive a very important award.”
While Fox has not disclosed specific reasons for her selection, Melania’s appearance marks one of her few public engagements in recent years.
