Mom and 4 children kil.led in fiery crash while traveling to see husband

Reagan Dougan, a devoted mother of four, was traveling with her children to Florida to visit their father when an unimaginable tragedy occurred.

While driving south on Interstate 95 in McIntosh County, Georgia, the rented SUV they were in collided with another vehicle and erupted into flames. Reagan and all four of her children — ages 9, 4, 2, and just 3 months old — were killed in the crash.

According to Georgia State Trooper Christopher Ashdown, the SUV struck the rear of a white Infiniti sedan at a high rate of speed. “Given the severity of the impact, the SUV immediately ignited,” Ashdown explained.

The driver of the other vehicle sustained injuries and was transported to a nearby hospital. Authorities say the exact cause of the accident remains under investigation.

Christopher “Jonesy” Butler-Jones, a close family friend, spoke emotionally to WTVD about the devastating loss. “I’m still in shock,” he said through tears. “Her husband lost his entire family. It’s absolutely heart-wrenching.”

He described Reagan as a loving, selfless mother and a loyal friend. “Her dream was always to have a beautiful family and be a mother. She was incredibly dedicated — her kids were her whole world. If you were ever upset, you could call Reagan, and she’d find a way to make you smile and see the brighter side of things.”

Another friend, Lindsey Marie, also shared her grief. “I can’t even imagine what her husband and family are going through,” she said. “My heart is shattered. Tomorrow is never promised. I truly have no words.”

She added, “Rest in peace, sweet angel. You have no idea how deeply loved you were by so many.”

In the wake of the tragedy, the family has launched a GoFundMe campaign to support Reagan’s husband, Christian Dougan, and help cover funeral expenses. Christian’s stepmother, Stoltman, wrote, “As Christian and both families begin the painful process of mourning these five beautiful souls, we cannot imagine the financial burden of transporting them from Georgia to their final resting place in Florida.”

Photographer Katrina Cusatis, who photographed Reagan’s maternity session last fall, also expressed her heartbreak on Facebook. “My heart is completely broken by this unimaginable loss,” she wrote. “Their love, joy, and connection were truly unforgettable.”
