Heartbreaking comment paramedic made to Rob Reiner’s daughter after she found him dead

On December 14, 2025, Romy Reiner went to her parents’ home in Brentwood, California, to check on them — only to discover a horrifying scene. Her father, acclaimed actor and filmmaker Rob Reiner, and her mother, Michele Reiner, were found dead, their throats slashed.

According to TMZ, Romy told authorities that she believed a family member “should be a suspect,” describing the individual as “dangerous.”

Shortly afterward, her 32-year-old brother, Nick Reiner, was arrested in connection with the killings of his parents. Rob Reiner was a legendary figure in Hollywood, while Michele Reiner was a respected photographer and producer.

TMZ further reported that tensions within the family had escalated shortly before the murders. Sources claim Nick and Rob Reiner were involved in a heated argument the day before the deaths at Conan O’Brien’s Christmas party.

Nick Reiner is currently being held on $4 million bail. If convicted, he faces life in prison and could potentially receive the death penalty. His past struggles with addiction have been well documented. According to People, Nick entered rehab for the first time at just 15 years old and underwent at least 17 treatment programs over the years.

At one point, he became homeless after refusing to return to rehab. “I spent nights on the street. I spent weeks on the street. It was not fun,” he previously told the magazine.

Sources say Romy fled the house in shock after discovering her father’s body, unaware at the time that her mother had also been killed. She reportedly learned of Michele Reiner’s death only after speaking with a paramedic.
