Mom Gives Birth To Incredibly Special Set Of Triplets

Discovering you’re expecting triplets would leave most parents speechless—and for 23-year-old Becki-Jo Allen, the moment doctors revealed she was carrying three babies was nothing short of a shock.

But her surprises didn’t stop there. After giving birth, she learned something even rarer: her three beautiful boys weren’t just triplets—they were identical triplets, a phenomenon that happens in only about one in 200 million births.

Becki-Jo and her partner, who live just outside Liverpool, England, already had a daughter, Indiana, and had been thinking about expanding their family. Still, they never imagined they’d be adding three children at once.

Early in her pregnancy, Becki-Jo experienced severe morning sickness and intense headaches. Her doctor scheduled an ultrasound earlier than usual, and that’s when the incredible news came to light—three tiny heartbeats.

“It was the biggest shock of my life,” Becki-Jo recalled. “We don’t have any triplets in the family, so it came completely out of the blue.”

At just 31 weeks, Becki-Jo delivered her boys—Rohan, Roman, and Rocco—via cesarean section. Each weighed about 3 pounds 5 ounces. They spent their first six weeks in intensive care, growing stronger before heading home to join their family.

Triplet pregnancies often come with complications, and it’s uncommon for all three babies to survive and thrive. But these boys did remarkably well, gaining weight steadily.

Initially, doctors believed the boys weren’t identical, but friends and family couldn’t ignore their striking resemblance. Becki-Jo decided to confirm it through a private DNA test—and sure enough, the results showed the boys were genetically identical.

Naturally conceived identical triplets are extremely rare. For this to happen, one fertilized egg must split into two, and then one of those must split again—all within the first ten days of pregnancy. In 2015, only four sets were born in the entire United States.

While they share the same features, Becki-Jo says telling them apart isn’t difficult:

“It’s only when they’re asleep that they look the same to me. They all have completely different personalities. They each have a small dark birthmark between their eyebrows—Roman’s is slightly darker, and Rohan has another on his leg.”

Life with triplets is busy. The boys go through around 130 diapers and five packs of wipes a week, keeping their parents constantly on their toes. Luckily, big sister Indiana, now six, adores her little brothers.

“Indiana loves them. She’s not one bit jealous,” Becki-Jo said. “I just feel a bit sorry for her when I think about what it’s going to be like growing up with three little brothers!”

With their rare bond and heart-melting looks, Roman, Rocco, and Rohan are sure to turn heads for years to come. And judging by their mum’s smile, they’ve already brought more joy than she could have ever imagined.
