Recently, the Australia Zoo shared an extraordinary video capturing the powerful moment a Sumatran tiger gave birth to two cubs. The footage quickly captured hearts around the world.

Sumatran tigers are critically endangered, with only an estimated 400 to 600 remaining in the wild. Because of this, every birth is a significant event, and conservationists do everything they can to ensure the survival of the species.
At the zoo, first-time mother Kaitlyn was closely monitored by her caretakers during labor. Although they were prepared to assist if necessary, nature took its course in a remarkable way.

Shortly after her first cub was born, Kaitlyn noticed he wasn’t breathing properly. Instinctively, she began to lick him, a natural behavior that stimulates breathing in newborns. Despite several attempts, the cub initially struggled. But Kaitlyn didn't give up. Her persistence paid off—moments later, the tiny tiger began to breathe on his own.
Both cubs are now doing well, and Kaitlyn is proving to be a devoted and capable mother.
