Prince Harry Revealed His ‘Worst Fears Have Been Confirmed’

After stepping down from their royal duties, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle lost their entitlement to official police protection in the UK. In response, Prince Harry initiated a legal challenge against the Home Office's decision to deny him the option to personally fund police security while in the country.

In a public statement, his legal team emphasized that Harry “inherited a security risk at birth, for life.” They argued that although his official role within the Royal Family has changed, his public profile—and the threats associated with it—remain the same.

The statement continued:
“While the Duke and Duchess of Sussex fund a private security team, that team cannot provide the same level of protection as UK police forces. Without this level of protection, Prince Harry and his family cannot safely return to his homeland.”

Prince Harry ultimately lost his case in the Court of Appeal. Following the ruling, he expressed frustration and accused the Royal Household of interfering in the legal process. He was particularly alarmed to learn that two senior royal officials were members of the committee (Ravec) responsible for decisions on royal security.

He formally requested that the Home Secretary investigate whether the Royal Family and Ravec exerted undue influence over the outcome of his case.

In response, a government spokesperson told The Mail on Sunday, “All members work collectively to advise the independent chair on the protective security of the Royal Family and key public figures. These decisions are made by Ravec, not the Home Secretary, under long-standing arrangements.”

The Duke of Sussex has voiced sadness that his children may not be able to visit the UK in the near future due to safety concerns. In a recent BBC interview, he stated:
“I can’t see a world in which I would be bringing my wife and children back to the UK at this point. My worst fears have been confirmed by the legal disclosures in this case, and that’s really sad.”

Reflecting on what his children, Archie and Lilibet, will miss, he added:
“The things they’re going to miss is, well, everything. I miss the UK—parts of it, of course. It’s heartbreaking that I won’t be able to show my children my homeland.”

According to a source close to the Prince, his primary concern is ensuring the safety of his family while in the UK. He wants his children to be able to connect with his home country and allow him to continue supporting his charitable causes.

Prince Harry also alleged that some key details were withheld during the appeal process—information he believes would be deeply unsettling to the public.
