Grease is a musical that many of us know well. Even if you haven’t seen it, there's a good chance you recognize at least a few of its classic tunes from that iconic ’70s movie.
When teenage girls around the globe first set eyes on the dashing Danny Zuko in his signature leather jacket, countless hearts skipped a beat.
The beloved film premiered in the summer of 1978, introducing us to the tough yet charming Danny who falls for the sweet and endearing Sandy Olsson from Australia—all set against a backdrop of the Pink Ladies and unforgettable dance numbers.
After that unforgettable summer, Sandy returned to Australia, and it seemed as though their chance encounter would be nothing more than a fleeting romance—until Sandy surprised everyone by attending a football game and revealing that she was the new student at Danny’s school!
True to his roguish nature, Danny initially tried to brush off their summer fling and maintain his cool. However, it wasn’t long before he found himself unable to resist the allure of the stunning Sandy.
It feels like only yesterday that I watched the film, with its memorable songs and energetic dance moves still vivid in my memory—and it seems I’m not alone in that sentiment.
John Travolta, who famously portrayed Danny all those years ago, recently appeared on “The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon” to commemorate the 40th anniversary of Grease’s release. During the interview, Travolta shared the backstory behind one of the film’s dance routines.
“I grew up with all these novelty dances,” he explained to Fallon. “For ‘You’re the One That I Want’ at the end of Grease, they needed a dance step. I said, ‘We used to do the four corners—why don’t we try that?’ The choreographer was intrigued and said, ‘Show me what you mean.’”

Fallon, clearly fascinated, urged Travolta to demonstrate the move, and as the audience erupted in cheers, the spirit of Grease came alive once again.
John Travolta proved he’s still got the moves, delighting fans both old and new. Check out the video below to see him in action, reminding us all of those iconic dance steps we grew up loving.
What a man! It’s always a pleasure to watch anything featuring him. Share if you agree that John Travolta still has it!
