Jealousy is an emotion many of us experience regularly. Some of us may find ourselves becoming jealous easily, requiring effort to keep it in check so that it doesn't overwhelm us.
For those in relationships, dealing with jealousy—either from themselves or from others—can be a frequent challenge. While it’s often uncomfortable, sometimes watching someone else struggle with jealousy can seem amusing.
One viral video features a woman dubbed the "most jealous woman ever," and she certainly lives up to the title. She insists her boyfriend take a lie detector test every time he comes home and even forbids him from watching women on TV.
Debbi Wood and her husband, Steve, discussed their relationship dynamics on a UK talk show. Unlike a typical couple, Debbi imposed a series of strict rules on Steve to follow due to her jealousy.
While jealousy can be harmless in small doses, taking it to the extreme—like demanding lie detector tests—can push boundaries too far.
The couple appeared on This Morning in 2015 to talk about their unusual arrangement. Debbi explained her jealousy, and although extreme, she believed her reasons were valid.
At 44 years old, Debbi remarked that when you find a great guy, you should do everything you can to keep him.
When asked if she worried about driving Steve away with her behavior, Debbi confidently responded that she didn’t believe she could push him away even if she tried. Steve agreed, saying if he were going to leave, it would have happened by now.
Steve also mentioned that Debbi wasn’t using the lie detector as frequently anymore. He added that her rule against watching other women on TV didn’t bother him since he preferred watching sports like football or racing.
Debbi elaborated on the TV rule, explaining that if she were more confident in her looks, she might feel differently. Her concern stemmed from the fear that Steve could develop inappropriate thoughts about other women.
The couple later appeared on television again, where Debbi revealed she suffers from Othello Syndrome, a psychological condition that causes irrational jealousy and the belief that one’s partner is being unfaithful. Fortunately, there are treatments and therapies available to help manage the condition.
