Simon Cowell is undeniably one of the most well-known figures in the music industry. Through his talent and business acumen, he has amassed millions over the years.
Without his influence and reality shows that discover musical talent, we might never have known artists like One Direction or Kelly Clarkson.
Simon's career began in the 1980s as a music producer, consultant, and scout, but he rose to public fame in 2001 as a judge on "Pop Idol." The show's massive success led him to create "The X Factor" and the "Got Talent" franchises, both of which have become immensely popular worldwide.
Twice, in 2004 and 2010, he was named one of the 100 most influential people in the world.

In recent years, Simon has faced significant challenges. He suffered two accidents: first, a fall down the stairs, and then a severe back injury from an electric scooter accident.
After the incident, which required back surgery, Simon warned others about the risks of electric bikes. “The one I had was basically a motorcycle with an electric engine when you have to wear a proper crash helmet, leathers. This thing was nuts,” he said. “I didn’t know how powerful it was before I got on it. And I flew 6-8 feet in the air and landed on my spine.”

Regarding his personal life, Simon is known for his philanthropy and love for animals. Since 2013, he has been in a relationship with Lauren Silverman, the mother of his son. Their relationship made headlines as it reportedly began while Lauren was still married to Andrew Silverman, a close friend of Simon's.
In 2014, they welcomed their son, Eric. “Meeting Lauren and becoming a dad was the most fantastic thing to happen in my life,” Simon told Hello Magazine.
“It’s hard when you have kids at my age, but it’s amazing. When you work as hard as I do, you think, ‘What’s it all going to be for at the end?’ Then somebody like him comes along, and it’s all worthwhile.”

Simon has built a $600 million fortune, according to Celebrity Net Worth, thanks to his successful shows and business ventures. However, it appears that Eric will not inherit this wealth. Simon believes his son should build his own success.
“I’m going to leave my money to somebody. A charity, probably — kids and dogs. I don’t believe in passing on from one generation to another,” Simon told The Mirror. “Your legacy has to be that hopefully you gave enough people an opportunity so that they could do well, and you gave them your time, taught them what you know.”

Simon and Eric share many interests and spend a lot of time together. The proud father has mentioned they both love Scooby-Doo and enjoy watching Disney movies together.
“He’s the most amazing thing that ever happened to me. I adore him,” the America’s Got Talent judge said.
Eric is named after Simon's father, Eric Selig Phillip Cowell, who passed away in 1999.
