Celine Dion, Fighting Back Tears, Provides An Update On Her Battle With Stiff Person Syndrome, Declaring, “If I Can’t Walk, I’ll Crawl

Celine Dion becomes visibly emotional as she discusses her devastating Stiff Person Syndrome diagnosis in her upcoming documentary, "I Am: Celine Dion."

According to Radar Online, Dion opens up about the profound impact her illness has had on her, particularly lamenting the absence of performing for her loyal fans.

Since disclosing her health issues, Dion has largely remained out of the public eye, leading to significant concerns about her potential to return to the stage.

Although she made a few rare appearances earlier this year, including presenting an award at the 2024 Grammys, Dion does not appear any closer to resuming her performances.

Her diagnosis has compelled her to cancel all her world tour dates for 2023 and 2024, underscoring the seriousness of her condition.

In a newly released trailer for the documentary, Dion is seen holding back tears as she speaks about adapting to a life without the performances that have defined her career.

“I am working hard every day, but I have to admit, it’s been a struggle. I miss it so much. The people. I miss them,” she shared.

Despite the challenges, the 56-year-old remains resolute in her determination to return to the stage, no matter the obstacles.

In a powerful declaration, the five-time Grammy winner vowed that she "won’t stop."

“If I can’t run, I’ll walk. If I can’t walk, I’ll crawl,” Dion stated. “And I won’t stop. I won’t stop.”

Reflecting on her journey, she added, “I’ve seen my life, and I love every piece of it. It’s not hard to do a show, you know. It’s hard to cancel a show.”

On March 15, Dion marked SPS Awareness Day with an update.

“Today the world recognizes International SPS Awareness Day,” she wrote on social media.

“As many of you know, in the fall of 2022, I was diagnosed with Stiff Person Syndrome (SPS). Trying to overcome this autoimmune disorder has been one of the hardest experiences of my life, but I remain determined to one day get back onto the stage and to live as normal of a life as possible.

“I am deeply grateful for the love and support from my kids, family, team, and all of you!

“I want to send my encouragement and support to all those around the world who have been affected by SPS. I want you to know you can do it! We can do it!”
